Robin and Rosehips Applique Workshop with Kate Findlay
Appliqué • Educational, G, 04-Sep-2020
In this workshop Kate takes you through all the stages to create this lovely picture. Her kit comes complete with pre-printed fabric, which she designed, and which therefore makes the picture just like you see it.
Simple fused applique, which is just tracing, cutting out and then ironing into place, is the start. Then you can go on and work into the piece with stitching. Again in this workshop Kate talks you through the 'how to' on the machine, what threads she likes to use and how to add the free details of trees, branches and the rose hip ends.
Kate also has a very clever trick on adding the wings and details when building the robin.
This is just one of four kits that Kate has designed, which are available through our website.
We were very excited that Kate joined us in 2021 at a retreat entitled Wild Gardens - for more information click here.
