How to make a fabric lampshade with Tess Grace
Block Printing • Educational, G, 22-Oct-2021
Tess Grace takes you through the various stages to create your own printed lampshade. It's lovely to create a personal design to compliment your room.
Remember, you need to have the fabric applied to the PVC base before you start to print on it as this gives you a firmer, better end result. Once your block printed fabric is dry, add the rings top and bottom. This is when you need to decide whether you want this to be a lampshade or a ceiling fitting. Then all you need to do is neaten off the top and bottom edges, with the help of the little widget.
The kit that Tess uses in this workshop is very comprehensive. It includes everything you need except the fabric. If you didn't want to print your own, then you could use a piece of fabric that is pre-printed. You can find Tess's lampshade kits, including the one made in the workshop, in our Shop at www.justhands-on.tv .
