Patch the Dog Crochet Cushion with Jane Czaja
Fun Projects for Children • Educational, G, 14-Aug-2020
You need to make 54 squares to complete this lovely project. You could colour co-ordinate or simply use up scraps. Each square is in fact only 3 rounds. You start with a circle, want to know how - well, Jane shares the secret.
Jane loves to use 4 ply cotton, which she actually uses double. There is also a great tip from Jane on how to find the two ends of a ball of crochet wool/yarn or aran weight cotton yarn.
When you have all the squares made, you will need to whip stitch them together. This uses up the thread ends and you can fasten off on the inside quite roughly as it won't be seen.
Jane also shows you how to double crochet the edge of Patch, so that you have a nice firm surround to him.
Patch is stuffed with toy stuffing. Just when you think he's fat enough, Jane suggests you leave him overnight as you might find he needs filling up a little more.
