How to Use the EZ Quilting Golden Wedding Ring Template with Jennie Rayment
Classes with Jennie Rayment • Educational, G, 01-Jun-2016
A variation on the double wedding ring patchwork block. This one has 6 melons around a hexagonal centre – it will impress your patchwork friends!
Great instructions on the packaging – so hang onto them.
Jennie guides you through the sequence of cutting and then sewing – don’t forget you can stop and start the video as often as you like to make sure you are keeping up.
Centre comes from a folded square, melons come from a strip of fabric and then there are lots of small pieces – so scraps are perfect. When they are all cut out they may look similar so maybe being systematic helps and/or marking your piles of fabric! Also take care that the B’s are cut with a mirror image!
This is challenging if your seam’s aren’t accurate. It is assumed that you work with a 1/4 inch. As these are small pieces you might like to reduce your stitch length to stop the pieces undoing!
Also possible to sew this by hand.
Great tip for adding plain melons into the scrap lozenges.
Little tip: you also get another template that allows you to cut the lozenges out all in one go!
The template is available in our website.
