Woven Panel Cushion with Jennie Rayment
Classes with Jennie Rayment • Educational, G, 28-Jan-2022
In this comprehensive workshop Jennie talks you through how to create the padded strips. She suggests that this would be a wonderful opportunity to use some of the coloured threads in your stash. And you will experiment a little with some of the variety of stitches that most modern machines give. If you only have zig-zag don’t despair as this can also look great.
In the example to camera she uses 8 strips to give three rows of weaving.
Jennie has a great tip about using your rotary cutting mat to help keep your rows straight. She also goes on to talk through the adding of borders – but don’t be a lopper!
Finally, there are suggestions from Jennie about the use of ribbons, using the texture on a bag front as well as thinking about plaiting the handle.
