Beginner Patchwork with Sallieann Harrison: Double French Quilt Binding
Classes with Sallieann Harrison • Educational, G, 25-Feb-2022
In order to bind most quilts you will need more than one strip of fabric. Knowing how to join them beautifully on the diagonal is a must, and Sallieann guides you through all the stages necessary.
Once your length of binding has been made, use the walking foot to apply this to your quilt. You will create a perfectly mitred corner. When you get back to the start, all you need to do is guide one piece of folded fabric inside the other.
Use quilting clips rather than pins for sewing the binding on by hand using a ladder stitch, which becomes invisible.
Or you could just employ your machine with the walking foot still in place, and select a decorative stitch.
