Beginner Patchwork Sampler Quilt Series with Sallieann Harrison - Promo Film
Classes with Sallieann Harrison • Educational, G, 02-Jul-2021
Sallieann takes you through all the steps you need to create this delightful quilt, designed by her and remade for us using Forest Fruits colour pack from Oakshott fabrics.
During the series of workshops, you will learn how to rotary cut safely; machine piece accurately with 1/4" seam allowance; press (rather than iron) your work; be introduced to the fused applique form of patchwork; add sashing and borders; layer quilt and finally bind using a double fold machine binding technique.
Here is a list of the fabric quantities you will need:
A – Grey/Cream background fabric – 1.25 metres
B – Black sashing and borders – 1.75 metres
C – Forest Fruits Pack (colours) – 1 fat eighth bundle of 8 fabrics
N.B. - Oakshott Fabrics are slightly wider than the traditional quilting cottons so if you are substituting from your own stash or another supplier, you will need more for the background, sashing, and borders.
Light weight sew-in interfacing – Fat eighth
Wadding – Twin Size
Matching Sewing Thread – 50 wt. cotton
Freezer paper for templates
Fusible web – 1m
Buttons – Two black
We have the same colourway of Fat 8ths as available from Oakshott Fabrics in our shop. As well as Forest Fruits, we have 7 other colourways that the quilt would look equally stunning in. We also have background fabric and sashing. Visit our website for all your needs.
Finished quilt size approximately 60" x 70"
The full pattern is available via Sallieann Harrison's own website.
