Christmas Wreath Sewing Caddy with Sallieann Harrison
Classes with Sallieann Harrison • Educational, G, 20-Nov-2020
In this workshop Sallieann talks you through some of the embroidery stitches she likes to use to hold the fused felt shapes into place. The pattern comes with all the templates you will need for the various shapes. These include the vine wreath, leaves and poinsetta flower.
She suggests using a simple cross stitch over the vine, with perle 12 thread and size 22 chenille needles. Then she moves on to suggesting a blanket stitch or over stitch for the leaves. We also get offered whipped back stitch for the leaf veins. Finally, colonial knots on the poinsetta flowers create a really stunning effect.
Make sure that you catch her fantastic tip on how to threads the needle when using this thick perle thread.
