Clear Vinyl Appliqué with Sallieann Harrison
Classes with Sallieann Harrison • Educational, G, 25-Mar-2022
Sallieann discusses making her quilted cherry tub pattern with window flower appliqué, she uses a cut away method. Also, she demonstrates how to sew 1/4” bias strips to the edge of the viny. And talks about the importance of using tiny stitches and pivoting to create accurate curves. This tub is quilted to ensure its stiffness and keeps its shape.
The second project uses appliqué hearts to embellish the clear vinyl pocket on the pouch.
Sallieann demonstrates the use of baking parchment to iron the hearts onto the vinyl before machine stitching. And she uses a variety of stitches to secure and embellish the hearts finishing with a back stitch to lock the thread.
Sallieann has patterns available for vinyl projects on her website.
