What`s on the Back of Your Quilt with Valerie Nesbitt
Classes with Valerie Nesbitt • Educational, G, 01-Feb-2014
Valerie shows you some alternative ways of making the backing fabric stretch with the help of some quilts from her quilting friends and students.
You need to remember that the backing and the wadding should be the same size, and bigger than the quilt front by about 3″ all round. This allows for any take up in the quilting and also gives a fudge factor when layering up!
So with this is mind, the backing fabric is often just not big enough. Valerie talks us through a few ways of using fabrics that might be left overs as well as some tips on what to avoid.
Once you have made the fabric big enough, you need to layer, quilt and bind.
