TASTER: Pinweaving with Lorna Bateman
FREE Tasters (Textile Art) • Educational, G, 10-Jul-2020
You will be inspired by this lovely workshop with Lorna. It’s also a great way to use up scraps/strips of fabric that you thought maybe too small to sew in the more traditional way.
Lorna guides you through colour selection. She does say though that anything goes, so there is no need to be too picky! You’ll also learn how to make your pinweaving board and get ideas for using the finished items.
Lorna also takes the opportunity to use up strips from old stockings of clothing, lengths of thread, particularly those with texture, and ribbons – all of which give a unique look to your piece.
This is also a very simple technique which would be great to be shared with children.
