TASTER: Great Northern Quilt Show - Harrogate- Part 1
FREE Tasters (Quilting) • Educational, G, 01-Apr-2013
The Great Northern Quilt Show, which incorporated the Great Northern Needlecraft Show, was held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, N.Yorks in Sept 2012. This is an annual event with competitions as well as displays.
We enjoyed not only the winning quilt entitled Floriade by Jacqueline Martin but also some convergence quilts. There was a judge’s choice from Sylvia Cricher entitled Jubilee Drive. Besides, there were some lovely whole cloth quilts as well.
Quite by chance, Valerie selected another piece by Hilary Beattie to show you.
Gail Lawther had her mini-exhibition called Glimpses of Britain running within the show and you can watch this by clicking here.
We also relished a short workshop by Jane Rollason. Jane enjoys taking fresh flowers to create patterns.
Additionally, Katie Pierson shared with us her love of imaginative embroidery. Katie is a graduate of the Royal School of Needlework and the London College of Fashion.
Anja Townrow was busy sewing surrounded by her lovely foundation pieced patterns.
Horn Cabinets showed us one of their amazing cabinets. You can be a seasoned sewer or just an occasional one these cabinets will still make clever use of space and help your machine be always at the ready.
Horn cabinets exhibit at shows around the country as well as have local dealerships around the country.
