Taster: Scrap Illusions with Anita Birtles
FREE Tasters (Quilting) • Educational, G, 25-Aug-2023
Anita demonstrates how to make a feature of crumb squares and focus prints with this effective illusion block. This particularly simple block uses cornerstones and shadow strips to give a 3D effect.
There are tips on the sizes of sashing, shadowing and cornerstones in relation to the size of the block. Ensuring that the shadow remains in proportion to the feature block.
Anita suggests making this lovely quilt for snuggling under on the sofa. Use 5 x 4 blocks to make this quilt with 2.5 inch sashing and a till roll crumb border.
Every time you cuddle up under this quilt the scrap crumb squares will remind you of other projects.
Or make the orphan block bag featured for memories on the move.
Get yourself ready for this quilt by making crumb squares and till roll crumbs in advance.
There are workshop notes for subscribed viewers.
