Interview with Gillian Harris at the Fluff-a-Torium
Interviews with Crochet Artists • Educational, G, 01-Jul-2017
Valerie gets to learn all about the wet felt courses that Gillian runs at her shop in Dorking.
You can learn how to make wet felt pictures, which are great for beginners, even if you can’t draw, Valerie thinks they are perfect to her!
There are beginners courses in making felt bags and t-cosies, which can be turned into hats, if you can’t add handles. I seem to remember our Jennie doing something equally silly!
Fabulous Felt Flowers are based on the book of the same name.
And then there are cosy slippers, which can be embellished with flowers too.
At the time of filming Gillian was the author of three books: Complete Felt Making, Carnival of Felting and Felting Fabulous Flowers, but since then she has added ‘Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff’ to the list. You can find more information about it in our website.
The shop stocks over 60 different colours of merino wool, so you won’t be stuck for choice. And there are other courses you can attend on crochet, knitting and spinning.
For more information you can visit her website – The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-Torium.
