Meet Fiona Goble - Knitting Enthusiast and Author
Interviews with Knitting Artists • Educational, G, 02-Jan-2019
Valerie chats to Fiona Goble who specialises in knitted toys and accessories. She describes the use of eyelash yarns to make knitted pets. These are straightforward patterns for beginner knitters.
Fiona developed knitted Japanese Amigurumi Pets for people who don’t crochet. These are further explored in her range of books and patterns.
Fiona says:
I started writing knitting patterns because I couldn’t find any I really liked. My aunt taught me to knit when I was seven – and I’ve had a project on the go almost ever since.
Before I started knitting professionally, I was a charity worker, co-owned a copywriting and design agency, worked as a pottery decorator and ran a textile business. I’ve also worked as a political researcher and craft teacher.
I live in the UK, just outside London but overlooking a field of horses, with my husband and (sometimes) my student son.
