Meet Pauline Ineson - Award Winning Quilter
Interviews with Quilting Artists • Educational, G, 01-Mar-2012
This was filmed at the Festival of Quilts 2010.
Pauline has taught creative machine sewing for over 10 years in Worcestershire. She teaches ladies how to use their sewing machines while making creative projects.
The Heirloom Quilt incorporates over 30 sewing machine techniques including wing needle, circular sewing, and inserting lace. I designed the quilt to teach my ladies at Sytchampton how to get the best out of their sewing machines.
Now, over 90 ladies have either made or are making the Heirloom Quilt! I entered the quilt in the Festival of Quilts Show at the NEC and was really thrilled. It then went on to win a first for Machine Quilting, a first for Patchwork and Quilting, a second in The Bed Quilt category, and a Judge’s Choice from Sandie Lush at Quilts UK, Malvern. This gave me the incentive to enter it in the Houston show where it was awarded an Honourable Mention
If you would like to make this quilt or simply learn some of the 36 machine sewing techniques, then my book, How to Create an Heirloom Quilt, will show you how and is available to purchase. and there is a starter kit too. To find out more click here.
Update 2018:
Sadly Pauline passed away in April 2018. However, her award-winning quilting ways still managed to win an award at FOQ 2018 with a group of members completing her work in progress.
