This is a delightful interview with Linda who is a well known quilt artist and author of several books, the latest of which is The Ultimate Guide to Art Quilting. She is also a member of the Contemporary Quilt Group.
Here are some of the items that we get to see:
Acid Etching in a workshop with Kate Crossley – www.katecrossley.com.
Piped edging with Pauline Barnes: www.Paulinebarnesquilts.co.uk.
The use of deColourant – there are several workshops here on the site you can enjoy using this product.
Long Arm quilting with Tracey Pereira: www.quiltmehappy.co.uk.
Working with Metal with Alyson Midgelow-Marsden – [email protected].
Bobbin work and using Lutradur
All these techniques and many more are covered in her wonderfully comprehensive book.
We also get to enjoy a wander round her converted kitchen. Cupboards that used to house condiments and spices now have containers of craft items. The drawers are filled with threads and where the crockery used to be, is now full of fabric!
There is also inspiration through the window as Linda sits at her computer writing. She has a wonderful new Bernina to work with and space on the wall to hang inspiration and design her latest quilts.
Linda is available for talks throughout the UK – and you can find out more about her on her own website https://www.lindaseward.com where you can also get in touch if you would like her to come to you and give a talk.
