Contrarywise Cathedral Windows with Jennie Rayment
Quilting • Educational, G, 07-Oct-2022
This twist on the traditional Cathedral Windows block encourages us all to experiment with this technique.
Jennie Rayment describes how altering the cathedral window square can produce an Octagon ideal for making table runners and decorations.
Starting with a square Jennie shows a turned through method to make a basic square. Surprisingly a simple hand stitching method and folding the corners in produces the octagon block.
She then goes on to demonstrate how to roll back the edges and introduce additional fabric to contrast the block.
Without a doubt a versatile block with endless possibilities.
