Knitted Cable Block with Daphne Morris
Knitted Sampler Throw Series with Daphne Morris • Educational, G, 11-Nov-2022
Block 3 of the sampler series. Daphne Morris continues with her completely reversible throw. Demonstrating the 2 cable blocks required for the throw.
She reminds us of the importance of starting and finishing the block with 2 rows of garter stitch and casting off in rib.
All blocks are 60 stitches with the first cable block using a standard cable on both sides of the block. The pattern has all the information on the cable twist so following the pattern is essential for both blocks.
The second cable block is a cable within a cable producing an interesting effect on both sides of the block. Daphne has include a simple cable on the reverse side of the block to give greater variety and texture to the block.
This 6 part series covers how to combine the knit and purl stitches to produce the variety of blocks. Together with the finishing techniques that square and join the blocks. Ending with making the beautiful tassels.
