If you are watching the taster of this, you will have a flavor of the work from a lofty of textile artists with the help of Edwina Mackinnon, and you will be able to enjoy the work of the rest of the group in Part 1.
Valerie is joined by Hilary Beattie, who acted as host and guided around the exhibition, where you can enjoy work from the following artists in this section:
The information from Lesley on the machine she used to create her stunning design work is the Janome Memory Craft 12000.
If you are tempted to try any of the techniques and need help with supplies, then visit Art Van Go here.
If you want to try, then Hilary Beattie has a beginners book out – Make It Personal – which covers lots of different ideas and guides you through making decisions and choices in this field. Our Book of the Month for Dec 2013, so it comes with FREE p&p in the UK.
We also have a discharge medium called deColourant here on the site – and you can watch several videos – just put ‘deColourant’ into the search box.
The exhibition organizer was Amanda Wright, who is also in charge of the Weaver Gallery at Church Lane, Ledbury HR8 1DW, where she holds classes and workshops and staging exhibitions.

We thank Lesley, who was part of the exhibition, for the following comments and hope all our viewers enjoy her observations.
I have just watched the second part of your film on our Living in the Middle exhibition. I think you and the guys did a fabulous job on the whole project though I have to say that I think Hilary was the star of the show! How did she come up with all that information given, that she had only seen most of the pieces that day?
Although I saw the exhibition, there were many details that I missed the first time around – so thank you for the opportunity for a revisit.
Well done all, and thank you for making an effort to visit.
