Videos were available from 1st July. Friday, July 1st, we met novelist and newbie quilter Tracy Chevalier and found out about her conversion to quilting. In addition, she discusses how she came to commission a brand new quilt made by prisoners for a charity called Fine Cell Work.
The same day, the irrepressible Jennie Rayment went all wonky with a traditional paper pattern from Simplicity. The aim was to create an excellent 9-patch design called Thirteen Ninety. On Friday 8th July, we got to part 7 of Jennie’s Stripy, Stripey Story Quilt, where she emerged unscathed from the deep dark forest of part 6 and showed us how to make some lovely little Cosy Cottages. Janet Clare will teach us the art of drawing with your sewing machine. Janet’s a master of this technique, but with her tips and techniques, we can all create lovely designs very quickly.
